What is Umbrella Insurance? Here is a little information that I thought might help you understand why you might need an umbrella Insurance Policy.
You have it all and you are enjoying a great life so don’t take a chance on losing it all because you don’t have enough liability insurance. Umbrella Insurance Policies protect you from liability that is above and beyond the limits of your standard policies (homeowners, auto, etc). This policy puts you under an umbrella so that when you exceed your liability coverage on your insurance policy, you will still be protected.
So you ask what does Umbrella Insurance Cover? Let me tell you. With your current insurance policies most liability coverages only cover bodily injury and property damage to others. Umbrella Policies will extend limits to not only provide additional coverage, but also to cover thing that are not listed under regular liability allowances. Every policy is different so be sure to check your policy. If you have any question on your policy give us a call at Eaton Insurance Services we would be happy to help you out.
When would you need Umbrella Insurance… Imagine if your dog were to bite a neighbor’s child. Or maybe if a member of the family failed to stop at a stop sign and killed a pedestrian. There is a good chance your current liability limits wouldn’t be adequate to protect your assets.
You may not think you need an Umbrella insurance Policy because these things don’t happen very often, but you can never be too careful. Typically this type of insurance is very inexpensive and will give you enough coverage to have peace of mind for the future.
